Portrait Stabilization and Restoration Project - Recently Nina West and local artist Blaine Berkley evaluated the condition of some of the Society's portraits.   As a result, they chose 12 portraits for stabilization and several of those for restoration.  Check back for a link to which portraits and what work will be done to them.

Glen Elk Wine, Music & Arts Festival - The Society is working with the Glen Elk Village and the Harrsion County Development Authority on the Glen Elk Wine, Music & Arts Festival.   Visit the  link to find the many interesting activities that weekend.

School Tours - Earlier this year, Helen Jones, Sharon Diaz, Karen and Bill Morgan met to discuss developing a school tour for the Stealey-Goff-Vance House.  After many meetings and much hard work, they came up with an appropriate tour.  They were very careful to choose information that was understandable and relevant to middle and high school students.   In May they gave their tour to forty students from Notre Dame High School.

Also, students from North View Elementary visited the Vance house.  This yearly visit is arranged by teacher and Society member Michael Spatafore.  Everyone has a good time and we look forward to even more visits.

If you want to arrange for a school tour or have a group that wants a tour, please email us at sgvhouse@yahoo.com.
